Student Life

Student Ethics

It is the desire of the Administration of the Asian Evangelical Bible Seminary that each student will have a value system based on Scriptural concepts which will help to protect the reputation of the College community as a whole. Honesty, integrity, and gentleness are expected in personal life. The College expects, therefore, that all students will carefully keep the standards and regulations of this handbook. The students should be doing all the academic requirements honestly and faithfully. Stealing, cheating, indulging in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, use of tobacco in any form, etc., will ultimately result in the dismissal of the student from the College. The student whose general conduct and influence are considered to be out of harmony with the standards of the Student Handbook and/or out of harmony with the standards of life and work believed to be essential to the academic, spiritual, and social welfare of the College may be expelled, suspended, or refused re-admission.

Mode of Discipline

Students found with any type of misconduct or violation of rules will be summoned for explanation. The first step will be warning the student. Penalizing and informing parents or persons concerned will follow it. Continued misbehavior can lead to suspension of the student. The ultimate mode of discipline will be dismissal from the College without any scope of re-admission.

Dress Code

Neatness in personal appearance and modesty in dressing is a requisite for the Asian Evangelical Bible Seminary students in classrooms, Library, Cafeteria, and Chapel. The students should be formally dressed at all these places. Sleeveless dresses, half trousers, and T-Shirts with indecent slogans are not permitted in these areas. Bathroom slippers are not allowed in classrooms/chapel/library. Infraction of these rules for dress and failure in neatness will be reported to the Dean of Students, and disciplinary action may be taken.

Student Council

The Student Council is composed of student body officers and representatives of various student groups. It seeks to develop the spiritual, physical, and social life of the students, to inspire loyalty to the College and to the principles for which it stands, and to promote an efficient and harmonious College life. AEBS will arrange times of fellowship, sports, and games occasionally involving the whole student body. Student office bearers will take responsibility to organize any such programs. If the students desire to conduct any program within campus (like fresher's welcome, farewell, social night, etc.), a request for permission should be made to the Dean of Students along with the details of the program.

Teacher – Student Relationships

Students are expected to maintain proper spiritual and respectful relationships with all AEBS staff. No student is supposed to entertain staff members in their rooms unnecessarily. In case of students needing any help from AEBS staff, they should be approached in their respective offices. Students should visit the faculty in their respective offices only for official matters and for any other assistance. Students interfering in the personal and family matters of AEBS staff and faculty are strictly prohibited and will invite disciplinary action.
